How to get the Best Boudoir Photos in Charleston

Are you curious about a Boudoir shoot for yourself or your partner? Here are a few things you should consider in order to get the best boudoir photos in Charleston.

Research... There are a lot of professional photographers in Charleston; make sure you find one who offers boudoir photography services on a full-time basis. They'll be experienced in working with different bodies and they'll understand how to light the shot or pose you so that you look your best. A flip of the hand one way can add 10 pounds, a flip the other way can take 10 pounds away, and you want someone who knows the difference. I have over 10 years of experience working with women of all body types and ages. and I just love making them feel beautiful!

Check the photographer's website for examples of their work.  Some photographers have a Playboy style while some may specialize in Pin-ups. You want the photographer's style to match your taste, so choose your photographer accordingly. Also, you might want to take nude photos, and not all boudoir photographers do nudity. Personally, my style is more sensual and artistic. I am comfortable with all levels of nudity. It's up to you to show as much or as little as you like. A well-known photographer will have samples of their work on their website and social media and will be receptive to questions if you have them.

There's a huge range in pricing, but boudoir photography packages can cost anywhere from $400 to over $5,000. Pictures are an everlasting investment. Be cautious of those that offer a session for $50. The saying is true that "you get what you pay for." I offer a variety of packages, so there is something for every budget.

Ask the studio if they edit pictures for the client. You shouldn't expect the studio to do major Photoshopping, but you want the pictures to be softened so you're not seeing stretch marks, cellulite, etc.

Consider location. Do you want to do the shoot outdoors or in a hotel room? If not, find a photographer who has an actual studio. My photography studio is located at 811 Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC 29407.

Go into the session with a really open mind and a positive attitude. Even with a great attitude,  no one feels natural about "looking sexy" at first. Everybody's a little nervous. Trust that the photographer you're working with will make you look the best they can make you look. You're being transformed into a supermodel for a day, so celebrate that moment.

A session might take 10 minutes, or it might take a few hours. Different photographers work at different speeds depending on their personal style and how much experience they have.

The shoot will probably change your life. It's going to be an experience, and it can be an amazing and uplifting one.
